First Quest

Ready for the first quest of the rest of your life?

First Quest is Next Quest's entry-level leadership and life skills program designed to help participants set goals, find their passion, overcome obstacles and level up in life.

Combined with many of the same concepts taught in world class executive education programs, the leadership lessons learned in this program will last a lifetime.

Let's get started.

Step One

First Quest Curriculum | $0.00*
*Normally $99.00 but for a limited time, the course fee is waived during the First Quest online pilot.

The self-paced leadership and life skills curriculum is hosted at Udemy.com and includes a mixture of short, engaging video lectures and thought-provoking assignments. Topics covered include:
  • 70:20:10 Leadership Development
  • Big Five Profile (Personality Traits)
  • Growth and Fixed Mindsets
  • Goal Setting
  • Building Positive Habits
  • Life Values
The course assignments will help you define a goal, identify goal-related Stretch Quests (real-world activities), and overcome obstacles in your way.

The Leadership and Life Skills Curriculum is required for participation in the Gaming and Coaching Program, so you have the option to:
  • Complete just the Udemy curriculum
  • Complete the Udemy curriculum and the coaching and gaming program simultaneously
  • Complete the Udemy curriculum and then take the coaching and gaming program at a later date
Once you've enrolled in the Leadership and Life Skills Curriculum, you'll be invited to join the Gaming and Coaching Program.

Step Two

Gaming and Coaching Program | $0.00*
*Normally $300.00 but for a limited time, the fee for the gaming and coaching program is waived during the First Quest online pilot.

This is the part that makes Next Quest leadership programs truly unique. The 40-hour gaming and coaching program supports you in pursuit of your goal and completion of real world activities and furthers leadership and life skills development in many other ways.
  • First, we use the table-top game campaigns as a leadership and life skill laboratory to discuss decision-making, teamwork, and other group dynamics. World-class leadership programs do something similar, but instead of deciding what glass products to manufacture, we battle monsters, rescue people, and save the world. Honestly, which sounds more fun?
  • Second, we use gaming as an incentive for working toward your real-world goal. The more stretch quests you do in the real world, the more swag and abilities your in-game character can acquire.
  • And finally, depending upon your personal goal, we may even be able to weave it into a game scenario.

We use the Roll20.net online table-top gaming platform. The video below provides a quick introduction to table-top gaming. We'll orient you but if you'd like to learn more about the basics, you can visit the Getting Started for Players page.
